We had an exciting week at Good News. There were some very special visitors at our preschool. They came in a giant red truck!

Yes, the firefighters were a big hit (for most...we did find that a couple of children were NOT interested in getting near the firemen or the truck!) The firemen made a very big point of showing how when they are dressed up in all of their gear, they are still just a regular person. Often children find that a firefighter dressed in all of his gear can look quite scary. So they had the children watch them (and watch Mrs. Wendy do it on Thursday!) get dressed from head to toe and then come give a high five to the person all dressed up. Hopefully by doing this, if a child were to ever need rescuing by a firefighter, they would find him less scary and be more willing to allow the firefighter to rescue him or her.

They also discussed "stop, drop and roll", as well as the difference between tools and toys. We are so thankful to the CPFD for coming out!
